The future of entrepreneurship may no longer be defined by competition, but by collaboration. This belief guided the Promotional Event: Global Collaboration for Entrepreneurial Innovation, co-hosted by the Tsinghua Southeast Asia Center (Tsinghua SEA) and the Bali Chamber of Commerce at the Cloud Lounge, UID Bali Campus, Kura Kura Bali.
Gathering 31 participants from Indonesia’s business and startup communities, the event served as a platform to explore how China and Indonesia can work together under the Belt and Road Initiative to foster entrepreneurial ecosystems that are both innovative and human-centered.
Unlike a ceremonial seminar, the session focused on open dialogue and practical exchange. Business owners, creative founders, and policy representatives discussed how to bridge China’s technological expertise with Indonesia’s agile and fast-growing startup environment, creating collaborative opportunities in areas such as sustainable business models, digital transformation, and creative economy ventures.
At the center of the conversation was the introduction of the Tsinghua Happiness Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, scheduled for September to November 2023. The program aims to cultivate happiness-driven entrepreneurship—a mindset that encourages innovation not only for economic gain but also for social and environmental well-being. Participants in the Bootcamp will gain access to global mentors, collaborative projects, and exposure to China’s Tsinghua ecosystem, learning how to scale their ideas with both technological insight and human purpose.
The event also built on the Letter of Intent on the Global Ecosystem Platform for Entrepreneurial Innovation, signed earlier with Indonesia’s Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment. This partnership framework supports long-term cooperation in innovation training, startup incubation, and investment facilitation, positioning Indonesia as an active partner in the global innovation network.
During the talk session with members of the Bali Chamber of Commerce, participants discussed how local entrepreneurs can integrate into global supply and innovation chains while keeping their cultural and creative identities intact. Bali’s potential as a regional creative hub was seen as a key advantage, with opportunities in sustainable tourism, digital craftsmanship, and green entrepreneurship.
Rather than concluding with formality, the gathering closed with informal networking and candid discussions, where ideas turned into possible collaborations—ranging from joint research and mentorship initiatives to the potential formation of cross-border innovation projects.
The session reaffirmed a shared understanding: innovation thrives where openness and cooperation meet. For Tsinghua SEA and its Indonesian partners, this event was more than a promotion—it was a reminder that entrepreneurship, at its best, begins with empathy, partnership, and a willingness to build across borders.
