15 July 2023 – Prime Plaza Hotel Sanur, Bali

In a significant step toward deepening academic–industry collaboration, the Tsinghua Southeast Asia Center (Tsinghua SEA) and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on July 15, 2023, at the Prime Plaza Hotel, Sanur, Bali.

The ceremony was attended by over 500 participants, including prominent figures such as Mr. I Wayan Koster, Governor of Bali; Mr. Zulkifli Hasan, Vice Chairman of KADIN Indonesia; and Ms. Ni Ketut Nuriatini, S.E, Head of Immigration for Bali Province. Representatives from Himbara Bali (Association of State-Owned Banks) and KADIN Bali chapters across nine regencies were also present, underscoring the event’s significance within Indonesia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

At its core, the partnership between Tsinghua SEA and KADIN aims to develop future-ready training and capacity-building programs designed to cultivate the next generation of Indonesian entrepreneurs. The collaboration aligns with Tsinghua SEA’s mission to merge academic excellence with real-world industry insights, empowering local talents to thrive in an increasingly interconnected and innovation-driven economy.

Beyond training programs, the MoU establishes a foundation for joint initiatives and collaborative events between Tsinghua SEA and KADIN Bali. These efforts are envisioned to foster knowledge exchange, digital transformation, and sustainable business practices, bridging academia, government, and industry to drive inclusive economic growth.

The signing also marks the beginning of a long-term relationship between two key institutions committed to advancing Indonesia’s entrepreneurial landscape—with Tsinghua SEA contributing its global academic network and innovation frameworks, and KADIN leveraging its strong connections across the nation’s business communities.

As both organizations move forward, this collaboration stands as a testament to the shared vision of creating a new generation of entrepreneurs who are not only competitive globally but also mindful of sustainability, community impact, and collective prosperity.
