26 May 2025 – Tsinghua SEA, Bali

The Tri Hita Karana “New Era Bali Kerthi Roadmap: Pioneering Special Economic Zones for Wealth, Health, Knowledge, and Creative Industry”, featuring the launch of the Happy Digital X Program, was held on Monday (May 26) at the United In Diversity Bali Campus, located within the Kura Kura Bali Special Economic Zone in Denpasar.

The workshop brought together leading policymakers, experts, and business leaders to explore how Special Economic Zones (SEZs) can serve as catalysts for sustainable and inclusive growth—both locally and globally. Through a series of focused discussions and collaborative sessions, the event aimed to deepen understanding of how SEZs can be designed to bridge policy, business, talent, and global innovation, ultimately driving Indonesia toward a more resilient and equitable economic future. This initiative is in line with the Bali Kerthi New Era vision, which seeks to position Bali not only as a tourism and cultural hub, but also as a model for sustainable transformation and green innovation.

The workshop emphasized the importance of building synergistic partnerships between government institutions, academia, and the private sector to create scalable solutions that advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By fostering collaboration across sectors, the forum sought to redefine how economic zones can balance prosperity with environmental stewardship and community well-being.

Also in attendance were Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, along with representatives from the United In Diversity Foundation, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), the UN Global Compact, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN). Their presence underscored the growing global recognition of Indonesia’s leadership in shaping a future that is greener, fairer, and more resilient through innovative economic governance.

The launch of the Happy Digital X Program marked another milestone in advancing digital empowerment and creativity within the context of sustainable development. By integrating digital innovation into the Bali Kerthi Roadmap, this initiative envisions a future where technology and human-centered design work hand-in-hand to enhance well-being and collective prosperity.

Ultimately, the Tri Hita Karana workshop reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to pioneering new models of development—rooted in local wisdom, driven by innovation, and guided by the shared pursuit of harmony between people, nature, and progress.
