31 July 2025 – Tsinghua SEA, Bali

The Tsinghua Southeast Asia Center (Tsinghua SEA) in Serangan, Denpasar, Bali, had the honor of welcoming Prof. Yang Bin, Vice President and Provost of Tsinghua University, along with an esteemed delegation from the university, during their visit on 31 July 2025. The visit served to strengthen ties between Tsinghua University and its Southeast Asia regional hub, while also highlighting shared goals in global education, sustainability, and cross-cultural collaboration.
The delegation was warmly received by Nimas Mega, Executive Director of TSEA, who opened the program with a welcoming address. This was followed by a presentation titled “Tsinghua SEA at a Glance,” providing an overview of the Center’s vision, milestones, and key initiatives in the region. The session underscored TSEA’s role in fostering interdisciplinary learning, innovation, and sustainable development in Southeast Asia.
Following the presentation, the delegation embarked on a Campus and Museum Tour, gaining deeper insight into the center’s infrastructure, academic programs, and cultural foundation. This was followed by a session led by Wendy Tan, Deputy Chief of Business Development & Chief Marketing Officer of Kura Kura Bali, who introduced the Kura Kura Bali Project — a visionary initiative integrating education, sustainability, and urban development on the island.
The day continued with an Island Tour, where the delegation visited several key sites including the Cove Pavilion, Three Mountains, ACS School, and Eco Tent, showcasing the blend of ecological mindfulness and educational ambition embedded within the Kura Kura Bali concept. One of the most memorable moments of the visit was the turtle release activity at Surf Surf by the Waves, symbolizing harmony with nature and long-term commitment to conservation.
The visit concluded on a high note, reaffirming Tsinghua University’s dedication to global engagement and innovation through its Southeast Asia presence. The day marked not only a celebration of institutional collaboration but also a shared vision for impactful, future-ready education.
