The Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment, in collaboration with the Tsinghua Southeast Asia Center (Tsinghua SEA), hosted “THE Promotional Event: Sustainable Development through Innovation and Entrepreneurship” at the Ministry’s main building in Jakarta.
The event served as a promotional and engagement session for the upcoming Tsinghua Happiness Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, scheduled for September to November 2023. It brought together members of Indonesia’s entrepreneurial associations and communities to learn more about the program and explore opportunities for participation.
This initiative stems from the ongoing partnership between Tsinghua SEA and the Coordinating Ministry, following the “Letter of Intent in Global Ecosystem Platform for Entrepreneurial Innovation.” The collaboration aims to strengthen innovation-driven entrepreneurship in Indonesia while aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The event featured a talk show with Jakarta’s leading entrepreneurs, who shared insights on how innovation and entrepreneurship can become powerful catalysts for sustainable development. They emphasized that through collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and collective action, entrepreneurs can play a vital role in addressing global challenges — from environmental sustainability to inclusive economic growth.
By highlighting inspiring stories and real-world examples, the session encouraged participants to rethink how business innovation can drive social and environmental progress. As one of the key speakers noted, “Sustainable entrepreneurship is not just about profit—it’s about purpose, partnership, and long-term impact.”
The event concluded with an open discussion on how the upcoming Tsinghua Happiness Entrepreneurship Bootcamp could serve as a platform for Indonesian entrepreneurs to enhance their skills, expand networks, and contribute to building a better, more sustainable world.
