On February 28, 2025, the Wisdom in Action: Tri Hita Karana in Practice event was held at Tsinghua Southeast Asia Center. This event served as the official kick-off for the 2025 Conference on Indigenous Wisdom in the Contemporary World, highlighting the relevance of Tri Hita Karana—a Balinese philosophy that promotes harmony between people, nature, and spirituality—in achieving sustainable development goals. The event was hosted in collaboration with Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Universitas Udayana and brought together over 60 participants, including academics, researchers, policymakers, and sustainability advocates. The event featured a panel discussion with experts sharing insights on applying Tri Hita Karana in governance, environmental conservation, and social development. Additionally, a Research Matchmaking session connected practitioners and researchers, encouraging collaboration on sustainability-focused projects. More than ten research initiatives were proposed during this session, laying the groundwork for academic contributions to the upcoming conference. This event successfully fostered interdisciplinary dialogue, increased awareness of indigenous wisdom in modern sustainability efforts, and strengthened collaborations between researchers and practitioners. The discussions and outcomes will play a key role in shaping the themes and research focus of the 2025 conference, ensuring continued exploration of traditional knowledge in contemporary global challenges.
